Morrisons today launched another round of price cuts, as food inflation continues to impact shoppers’ budgets.

The supermarket has cut the price of 820 products, including meat, fruit & veg and confectionery.

It has also cut the price of a raft of household products such as kitchen roll, with the cuts overall averaging 20%.

Morrisons said the cuts would be locked for at least two months.

The supermarket has already cut the price of 130 of its Savers products this year, backed by a major advertising campaign, as it seeks to become more competitive on price with its supermarket rivals and the discounters.

The latest wave includes brands such as Warburtons, Patak’s and Dettol as well as Morrisons own label products.

“Today’s cuts demonstrate our continued commitment to doing all we can to help when it comes to the cost of grocery shopping,” said Morrisons CEO David Potts.

“In addition to the cuts we made to the Savers range at the start of the month and then our fuel promotion, we’re now cutting the price on even more popular products to help make a positive difference to the pockets of our customers.”
