The Weetabix group has recruited Ken Wood, MD of Müller Dairy UK, as chief executive officer, replacing Sir Richard George.
Wood will preside over the development of breakfast brands such as Weetabix, Alpen, Ready Brek and Wheetos.
He has driven the development of the Müller brand in the UK during the past 18 years, managing brands such as Müller Puds and Amoré premium yogurt.
He has recently presided over a range of initiatives, including the Müllerice relaunch in May and the new licensing deal for Cadbury desserts in April.
He assumed responsibility for developing the Müller brand internationally in January, but said he could not refuse the opportunity to lead the Weetabix group, which he will join in September.
Wood said: “I am and always will be very proud of what has been achieved at Müller in the UK. However, to be given the opportunity to work on such an iconic brand as Weetabix is irresistible.”
Sir Richard will remain as non-executive chairman.
