Onken is claiming a category first with the launch of a new big pot yoghurt containing five different wholegrains.
Onken Plain Grain launches in Waitrose and Tesco on 5 June (£1.50/450g) and combines a slightly sweetened creamy plain yoghurt with barley, oats, wheat, rye and rice.
The brand said the yoghurt was a “unique offering” that released energy slowly. It will sit alongside Onken’s four existing big pot wholegrain yoghurts.
“Our Wholegrain range has always proven popular with our customers,” said Emmi UK head of marketing Gayle Harrison. “Listening to their feedback made Plain Grain the natural evolution in the development of our range,” she added.
“We wanted to create an original and exciting flavour and snacking experience for consumers. The distinctive texture and taste of Onken Plain Grain makes it a unique product in the market for retailers.”
