Organix has launched a range of fruit bars aimed at mothers who want to ensure their kids get at least one of their five fruit and vegetables a day.
Organic Fruit Bars, part of the organic children's food company's Goodies range, are being rolled out now and come in two flavours - banana & date and apple & date. Each bar contains one portion of fruit and is free from fruit concentrates and added sugar. A pack of seven is priced at £1.99.
The launch follows research indicating that, on average, British children were still eating less than half the recommended daily amount of fruit, said Organix founder Lizzie Vann.
"Getting children to eat more fruit would be of enormous benefit, but they tend to prefer to eat more processed foods," she said. "We have disguised simple blends of dried fruit and packaged them in a more attractive way for children."
The range is available in Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda and Waitrose.
