Pip & Nut has appointed Mindful Chef CEO Tim Lee as non-executive director.
Lee joins the board at a “key moment” for Pip & Nut, as it looks to capitalise on its position as the UK’s fastest growing nut butter brand, while expanding into new categories.
Lee has a wealth of fmcg industry experience; he was previously food marketing director for Tesco and head of food online & strategy for M&S.
The move follows the recent appointment of lead investor Giles Brook as Pip & Nut chairman. Brook will continue to support the senior leadership team throughout the brand’s growth.
It also comes after Pip & Nut entered snack bars in July, unveiling a trio of peanut butter-stuffed oat bars.
“We are delighted to welcome Tim as Pip & Nut’s first non-executive director,” said Pip & Nut founder and CEO Pippa Murray.
“His expertise driving consumer-centric digital strategies will support us as we move further into the snacking category,” Murray added.
Lee said he was “delighted to be joining the Pip & Nut team at such an important time for the growth of the company”.
“I’ve watched as Pip has led this brand from a challenger start-up to the fastest growing nut butter brand in the UK and am excited to get stuck in to help her and the team take it even further.”
Pip & Nut’s distribution gains in 2023 meant it bucked the trend of volume declines in the category and overtook Sun-Pat in terms of market share.
Its success was celebrated at The Grocer Gold Awards 2024, where Murray was honored as ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’.
