Premier Foods has expanded its Loyd Grossman portfolio with ‘melts’ that add flavour to meat or fish.
The Italian-inspired ambient Pan Melts line is rolling out this week in four flavours - Wild Mushroom & Creamy Mascarpone, Crushed Basil, Garlic & Rich Parmesan, Sun Dried Tomato & Creamy Ricotta and Mediterranean Tomato, Sweet Red Pepper & Smoky Paprika (rsp: £1.69 for a pack containing two 38g pots).
Premier said the product utilised “unique new technology” that enabled dairy ingredients to be used in the products. The supplier claimed the melts would add flavour to a dish similar to a glaze, rather than “creating a runny sauce”.
“We are pioneering a completely new platform in the cooking sauces and accompaniments category with the opportunity to extend the range into many other cuisines and uses in the future,” said brand director for cooking sauces Yilmaz Erceyes.
The quartet would also bring new people into the category by encouraging younger shoppers to explore the sector by “exciting them with relevant flavours and formats”, said Erceyes.
Premier Foods is supporting the newcomer with press and in-store advertising.
