The Real English Drinks Distillery is launching a line of vodka liqueurs inspired by “popular pub desserts”.

Called Pud, the range comprises six 28% abv flavours: Lemon Meringue, Sticky Toffee, Apple Crumble, Chocolate Brownie, Salted Caramel and Vanilla Cheesecake (rsp: £24.99/700ml).

The drinks – which roll out on 1 April – will be unveiled at the IFE show in London Excel this week (21-23 March).

“Our house Toffee Vodka outsells the bestselling vodka 20-to-one in our Red.H group of pub restaurants”, said Neil Patterson, master distiller for the Real English Drinks Distillery.

The drink was “often enjoyed by people who don’t want to eat a dessert but still fancy something sweet”, he said.

“Having stumbled upon this insight, we set out to not only create a ‘specials board’ range of shots to choose from, but to also make them available for retailers to buy and offer to their customers dining at home,” Patterson added.

Real English Drinks Distillery senior commercial manager Kate Harding said Pud was “the perfect post-meal sweet sign-off”.

“We look forward to having a bit of fun with this brand and are excited to present the proposition to buyers and retailers,” she said.

It follows a flurry of recent innovation from drinks suppliers hoping to tap demand for flavoured spirits.

Last week, Smirnoff unveiled a new ready-to-drink format for its raspberry vodka and Gordon’s added two new fruity flavoured gins to its lineup.
