Morrisons' (five stars) quiche was the best all-rounder. Not only did it look appetising, its pastry was also perfectly smooth and not too dry, the egg custard tasted just right and was crammed with bacon.
Waitrose's (three stars) had a strong eggy flavour that was not too overpowering and its tasty bits of bacon went down well, though the texture was on the sloppy side.
Although the Sainsbury's (three stars) product looked great, with its crinkly pastry edges, it was let down by its chewy texture.
Asda's and Tesco's (both two stars) offerings were both pretty average. Neither had any major flaws, but they could both have done with a stronger flavour as they were a bit on the bland side.
