Heinz is introducing eco-friendly packaging across its HP sauce range as part of plans to modernise the brand.
To give the brown sauce a green twist, recyclable PET bottles will replace the current polypropylene plastic bottles next month (the glass format will continue).
The labelling of the entire range will be relaunched to feature a "more modern" look, including brighter labels and recipe suggestions.
"The traditional host foods for HP sauce, such as a fried breakfast, are currently in decline and consumers are actively looking for new ways to incorporate the products into their meals," said Jeanette Moore, senior brand manager at Heinz.
HP Steak Sauce has been re-named HP Pepper Sauce and the reduced salt and sugar variant given a new green label to set it apart from the original.
