The RSPCA has launched a pre-Christmas national press campaign via its Freedom Food scheme to drive awareness of farm animal welfare issues and the sale of its products.

The campaign will focus on eggs, chicken and turkey, and adverts will run in a range of national newspapers and magazines to highlight the benefits of improved welfare standards and to encourage consumers to show their support by buying Freedom Food labelled products.

Nina Crump, marketing controller of Freedom Food said: “As we enter the festive season, and there is a natural increase in food animal production and consumption, the welfare messages of the ads are even more important and we hope they will make a real difference to people’s shopping habits this Christmas.”
