SCAPA _NEW SIGNATURE RANGE (1)

Each expression comes in a new bottle and gift box

Orkney-based scotch brand Scapa has unveiled its first-ever collection of age-statemented single malts.

The new signature range – comprising 10, 16 and 21-year-old single malts – will be available globally from mid-November 2024 via The Whisky Exchange.

The 10-year-old (rsp: £50/70cl) had “bursts of fresh pineapple before a subtly spiced finish”, while the 16-year-old (rsp: £100/70cl) offered “ripe mangoes on the nose and a symphony of sweet, spiced and fruity notes on the palate”, Scapa said.

The 21-year-old (rsp: £250/70cl), meanwhile, was a cask-strength single malt with “hints of aromatic oak and spices, and a sweet, syrupy finish”.

To coincide with the launch, Scapa has also undergone a brand refresh. The new design was “inspired by the calm pace of life within the sanctuary of the Scapa Flow” where the distillery resides, said the brand.

Each expression in the signature collection also comes in a new bottle and gift box.

“The launch of our first collection of aged single malts marks a significant new chapter in our history,” said head distiller Mick Swanney. “The new collection is a celebration of provenance, backed by more than a century of whisky making, which together capture the irresistibly tranquil essence of Scapa.”

Founded on the Orkney archipelago in 1885, Scapa is owned by Chivas Brothers, the scotch whisky division of multinational drinks company Pernod Ricard.

Its The Orcadian Single Malt is stocked on Ocado.

Earlier this month, Scapa’s Orkney distilling peer Highland Park underwent a brand refresh of its own.

The reimagined packaging for Highland Park’s 12, 15 and 18-year-old single malt whiskies has rolled out globally from this month.
