Glasgow-based baker McGhee’s has secured the first retail listing for its ‘healthier’ Scotch pie.
Rolling into Scottish co-op Scotmid now, McGhee’s better-for-you pies contain 40% less fat than a traditional Scotch pie, while salt levels have been cut from 2.1g to 1.2g. Each pie contains 2.3g satfat and 314 calories (rsp: £1.35/two-pack).
The pie, which was launched into foodservice in 2010, carries a stamp of approval from weight loss programme Scottish Slimmers.
