Iain Hill has been elected vice president of the Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA).
Hill is managing director of Ayrshire-based wholesaler Iain Hill, which delivers crisps, snacks, soft drinks and confectionery to independent retailers in Ayrshire and Renfrewshire.
He will become SWA president when Norman Wemyss, freetrade sales and business development director of foodservice wholesaler 3663, steps down in June this year.
"It is a huge honour to be elected president of the SWA," said Hill. "With the imminent changes to Scotland's licensing laws and ongoing legislative and legal compliance issues that affect our businesses and staff, we need a strong SWA to ensure our voice is heard."
Wemyss described Hill as "ideally placed to embrace the challenges facing the industry over the next couple of years".
"He will be an articulate and effective figurehead for our association," he said.
