Somerfield has promoted Kieran Spottiswoode to local marketing controller to help support its £70m store refit programme and new formats roll-out.
He replaces Rachel Warren, who left in August to become head of retail marketing at Oxford, Swindon & Gloucester
Co-op (The Grocer, August 2, p17). Somerfield said Spottiswoode will be responsible for managing store launches, local marketing and local and tactical activity.
He will be instrumental in the multiple’s strategy to be the UK’s leading small-format food retailer in convenience and top-up, particularly through location-specific stores.
He reports to head of retail marketing Martin Langdon.
Spottiswoode joined Somerfield five years ago as national advertising assistant. A spell as local marketing manager followed.
His replacement will be Claire Workman who will become marketing manager for instore communications.
