Asda fresh meat, fish and poultry category director Stuart Menzies is leaving to join rival Iceland.
Menzies took on the role in February 2013, having previously worked as category director for core grocery at Asda for three years, including overseeing buying for canned goods, cereals and world foods.
He first joined Asda in 2001 from Matthews Foods.
“We will be replacing Stuart Menzies. There is no news yet but recruitment is underway,” said an Asda spokesman.
In January The Grocer revealed that as many as 800 of the 3,000 staff at Asda’s Leeds HQ were to either leave the business or be consulted on a shift to different roles.
