Confectioner Sulá has revamped its sugar-free range with new flavours and flip-top packs.
The company said products such as soft drinks - earlier this year Britvic replaced the sugar in its SoBe Water brand with herbal sweetener stevia - and chewing gum had demonstrated the enormous potential for sugar-free in the UK. The German business has expanded its UK range with butterscotch, mint humbugs, rhubarb & custard and strong mint flavours (rsp: 95p).
This year, confectionery wholesaler Hancocks expanded its sugar-free sweets into a £1 bagged format. “Sugar-free is a small market but demonstrates steady growth,” said purchasing director Jonathan Summerley.
