Superdrug has announced several new leadership moves as part of an executive board reshuffle.
Commercial director Simon Comins has been promoted to CCO after being with the business for 35 years.
Additionally, former e-commerce director Matt Walburn is to widen his role as he becomes e-commerce, customer and marketing director to help drive the company’s omnichannel strategy as well as the newly announced Marketplace – an online platform featuring businesses from premium to up-and-coming brands that is launching in September.
Amy Davies, previously head of people, is now taking on the role of people director and will sit on the Superdrug executive board.
Davies will also focus on bolstering female board presence and driving more inclusion and diversity strategies to “reflect the growing gen Z customer base” that the beauty and health retailer holds.
“At Superdrug, our strategy focuses on introducing our customers to the newest and best trending products in health and beauty while bringing them the value they know and love from us,” said Comins. “I know these new roles will help us achieve this goal, while creating an amazing culture for anyone who works or shops with us.”
Superdrug is also appointing cosmetics and fragrance head Meg Potter as new trading director, while Jamie Archer will take a new role as own brand director.
Potter, who will also be joining the executive board, said: “With my new role, and exciting developments such as our new marketplace platform, I believe we’re in a better position than ever to make the biggest trends in health and beauty accessible to our customers, while continuing to bring the value they know and love us for.”
