EatPlanted, the Swiss ”gourmet” meat alternative producer, has made its UK debut with a range of high protein products it claims to contain only ’clean ingredients’.
The pea protein-based products include lemon chicken alternative pieces with herbs and a pulled pork alternative, with prices starting at £7.99 for a 400g pack.
The brand’s lineup is available direct from its website and via a select number of restaurants, with further retail expansion in the pipeline.
Said to be produced using a “transparent in-house manufacturing process” which sees the supplier invite stakeholders to the factory to see the production process for themselves, the products are additive-free and contain few ingredients – its chicken alternative pieces are made from water, pea protein (33%), pea fibre, rapeseed oil and vitamin B12.
“When we launched EatPlanted, our goal was to harness the power of plants to produce a product that hit the mark in terms of taste, texture, and quality, while removing the need for animal suffering and the detrimental environmental cost of the livestock industry,” Pascal Bieri, co-founder of EatPlanted said.
“By creating products high in protein that consists only of clean ingredients and no additives, it has never been easier for consumers to swap out meat for a plant-based alternative and protect the planet. We are proud to play our part in working towards making the world a better place bite by bite.”
Eatplanted is also available at restaurants and major retailers across Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy.
