Tesco is offering an additional 200,000 pumpkins this year ahead of a predicted 15% rise in pumpkin sales. Demand had grown by 60% over the past six years, it said. “Because of reports of a bad season for some growers, we are seeing higher demand than normal and it’s happening earlier,” said pumpkin buyer Natasha Beagley. It expects to sell almost two million pumpkins, with supplier Oakley Farms supplying over 1.5 million.
