A new Thai food range encouraging home cooking of ethnic recipes aims to take on Sharwood's and Blue Dragon.
Thai Kitchen was first launched in the US in
1989 and is popular in the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
Products in the range include curry pastes, jasmine rice and rice noodles, coconut milk, Pad Thai and sweet & sour cooking sauces as well as condiments such as sweet chilli sauce and fish sauce. Thai Kitchen also produces green, red and yellow Thai curry dinner kits for busy and discerning consumers, which make up a meal in 20 minutes. All its products are manufactured in Thailand.
General manager of Thai Kitchen, Europe, Philippe Fornier, said the brand was set to replicate its global success in the UK. "Not only is the ethnic food market expanding in the UK year-on-year, but the popularity of Thai food is growing rapidly in that market," he said. "The time is ripe for authentic Thai food that is simple to prepare."
