Why will it sell? With its strong, contemporary image and massive £6m marketing spend, it will give a boost to the sugar confectionery market.
Shocking Pop from Chupa Chups

These lollipops come with one of four collectable caged beasts inside a hand held case.
Why will it sell?
Children love collectables, particularly at an affordable price, and anything that has Danger & Caution' written on the side of the pack will have instant kids appeal. If a bloody creature pops out as well, it's a winner.
Lindt's White with Coconut Excellence

Why will it sell? Coconut is another flavour making its mark, so combining coconut with white chocolate is a touch of genius by Lindt.
It adds another indulgence bar to its Excellence range which already boasts increased sales of 38%.

Why will it sell? Anything football oriented woos the kids and these bagged milk chocolate shapes, especially launched at the beginning of the football season, should boost sales.
Meltis New Berry Fruits from Ryne Confectionery

Why will it sell? A golden oldie with real nostalgia value and a timely relaunch before the peak Christmas period. The liquid centres have been reformulated to give a much better mouth feel and flavour to tempt a wider audience.
Polo Smoothies from Nestlé

Red and white striped individually wrapped sweets.
Why will it sell? A first for Polo in the burgeoning hanging bag sector, and another move outside its mint stronghold. It goes head to head with Bendicks' Campino thus providing interesting competition in the marketplace.
Roadrunners from Nedan Confectionery
Rsp: 25p for 40g, 99p for 175g, £2.29 for 420g
Why will it sell?
These resealable bright funky packs of car shaped jellies and gums will appeal to cool kids, particularly with a strapline like "Get yer gob in gear!"
Media support is aimed at them through TV ads, comics and a dedicated website.
Cadbury's Snow Flake

A white version of the "crumbliest, flakiest" product, covered in milk chocolate.
Why will it sell? Ideal as a quick fix indulgent line predicted to reach 75% of 16 to 24-year-old women.
Starburst Sourburst from Mars

An assortment of sour fruit flavoured sweets said "to get your juices going".
Why will it sell? Sour and sharp are the buzzwords for kids. Mars' leap on the bandwagon should also benefit from the £6m behind the core brand.

Rsp: 25p for a pack of five bubblegum balls, plus an exclusive Westlife tattoo in each pack
Why will it sell? This boy band is one of the hottest properties just now, so the mix of this gum and these pop idols, has to be a good move. We predict a bevy of tattooed teenage girls.
Wispa Bite from Cadbury

Why will it sell? Anything caramel is a winner. This, and the £2m TV ad campaign featuring wacky Geordie duo, Ant and Dec, has instant youth appeal, and adds to the trend of eating on the go.
