Posh pork snacks brand The Snaffling Pig Co has overhauled its packs and secured a major listing with Tesco.
The brand, whose snacks were already available through Ocado, has refreshed its entire range with a new logo and “contemporary” bright on-pack designs.
Three SKUs - pork crackling in Low & Slow BBQ and Ham & Colman’s Mustard, and Perfectly Salted Pork Scratchings - rolled into 803 Tesco stores across the country last week, priced at 95p (rsp: £1.50/50g).
The Tesco deal is the first big four supermarket listing for the brand, and marked an “important step” for its development, said Andrew Allen, co-founder and marketing director.
“Tesco is such a giant of the snack market, meaning many more opportunities for our customers to enjoy a snaffle, and some validation of the porky vision we had three years ago.”
The Snaffling Pig Co, which launched in 2014 and secured investment on Dragons’ Den from Moonpig founder Nick Jenkins, had a “great story” that Tesco customers “would love”, added Pal Natt, buying manager for crisps & snacks multipacks at Tesco.
The brand, which also recently scored listings for its pork crackling gifting jars with John Lewis, Debenhams and Harvey Nichols, hinted at plans for “further brand development” next year.
