The Asda store on Main Street in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, won the Grocer 33 Top Store award this
time last year.
Manager Stephen Gallagher said that the store's high street location required his team to meet the needs of both convenience and stock-up shoppers equally well.
When we called this week, team leader Jacqui Stewart said that Gallagher had moved on to the Perth store, replaced by Kevin McBride, who was on holiday.
Stewart said that the store had been refurbished this June at a cost of £4m. The music and video section was expanded and positioned more prominently, a new photo shop and a new fish counter included, and product ranges increased across the entire store.
