Tomato supplier The Tomato Stall has launched what it claims is the first cordial made from the fruit.

Tomato cordial was an “exciting soft drink” when diluted with water, said the Isle of Wight producer, but could also be used as a cocktail mixer or straight with a dash of fruit or herbs. Available from next month online and from farm shops and delis, it would tap demand for innovative flavours, said company director Paul Thomas.
