n Riso Gallo has added two new products to its Riso Pronto range of quick-cooking risotto rices. Sundried Tomato with real tomato pieces and Mushroom with real mushroom pieces extend the range to five varieties. Including real pieces of sundried tomatos and mushrooms removes the need for preparation or additional ingredients - meaning consumers can simply add water to create a quick meal in just 12 minutes.
n Porter Foods has introduced three new varieties to its range of organic rices: Canadian Lake Wild Rice, North American Brown & Wild Rice Blend and Basmati Rice & Lentil Blend.
n RVP Foods is undertaking a complete overhaul of its main brand, Oriental Express, with new packaging and a more contemporary personality. The overhaul is ahead of a £5m ad campaign starting with TV commercials at the end of the month. Oriental Express is initially launching a range of Sizzling Stir Fry ready meals that come with either noodles or rice that can go straight into the wok from frozen. The varieties include Chicken Chow Mein, Chinese Prawns, Beef & Blackbean, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Thai Chicken. The other new addition is Stir Fry Essentials, a range of three convenient Chinese accompaniments  noodles, egg fried rice and vegetables.
