Unitas Wholesale has appointed Aoife Kenny as its new commercial director.
She will replace John Baines, who revealed plans last September to retire as trading director after 28 years at the buying group.
Kenny will join the organisation having most recently held the position of interim head of foodservice at AF Blakemore. She has also held a series of key roles across the retail, foodservice and manufacturing industries at companies including PepsiCo, Central Co-op, Heart of England Co-op, Burton’s Biscuits, Enterprise Foods and the Kepak Group.
“I am absolutely delighted to welcome Aoife to Unitas at such an important time in our development, as we seek to re-shape the organisation to become more member-centric and cement our place as the UK’s leading buying group,” said Unitas MD John Kinney.
“Aoife has the skills, values and experience that we were looking for, gained during a successful career across, wholesale, foodservice, retail and manufacturing.”
She will start the new role in September.
