Waitrose has lodged plans for its largest Scottish store yet, which could open in East Renfrewshire by February 2011.
Spanning 36,000 sq ft with a 25,000 sq ft sales area, it would create 200 jobs in Newton Mearns. If approved, it would be the chain's second Glasgow store and its fourth north of the border.
"This is an exciting opportunity for our first new-build store in Scotland and demonstrates our ambitions to make our brand far more accessible to Scottish consumers," said managing director Mark Price.
