Waitrose has signed a deal with British Corner Shop to sell its own-label products worldwide.
The supermarket can now regularly ship to 138 countries including two of its largest markets, Germany and the US.
British Corner Shop is an online supermarket for British expats and delivers some of the UK’s favourite brands worldwide. Waitrose is the first supermarket to sell products through the service.
The site will now stock over 2,000 Waitrose products including Waitrose Duchy Organic, Essential Waitrose and the new premium Waitrose 1 range.
“British Corner Shop gives a global audience access to Waitrose and provides a platform for our British suppliers to showcase the great food and drink they produce,” said Waitrose commercial director Mark Williamson.
“We are proud that our brand continues to retain the loyalty and trust of customers wherever they are in the world.”
Over 10,000 branded British products already feature on the site including chilled, fresh and ambient goods. Last year, the group shipped more than 50,000 orders abroad.
“We are delighted to have agreed a deal with Waitrose. Extending the current British Corner Shop range with over 2,000 Waitrose product lines gives our customers greater choice,” said British Corner Shop MD Mark Callaghan.
“We know the Waitrose brand will go down well with our British expat customer base, in particular categories such as biscuits and household are in demand, and the Waitrose Duchy Organic brand is often requested.
“Waitrose and British Corner Shop share a company value of ‘championing British’, and we look forward to growing our relationship with Waitrose, and to exporting the Waitrose brand to customers around the world.”
