Meat processor St Merryn Foods and Tesco teamed up last week to convince farmers of the merits of supplying the UK’s number one retailer.
At a ‘walk the chain’ event in South Wales, red meat producers heard how Tesco was developing its British lamb and beef ranges in its stores.
St Merryn Foods’ John Dracup said: “The British and Welsh meat industry really does have a lot to offer, including first-class animal husbandry and our state-of-the-art meat processing plants in South Wales and Cornwall.
