Channel 4 has re-commissioned its Weekend Kitchen with Waitrose show, hosted by presenters Lisa Snowdon and Steve Jones, after a successful first 12-week run in the spring.
The 14-week follow-up will continue to reflect the style of Waitrose’s free weekly newspaper, Waitrose Weekend, but will feature expanded lifestyle content. As well as celebrity guests and leading chefs, the series will profile young artisan food producers and include celebrities’ family recipes, gardening and homeware tips.
The first series of the hour-long Saturday show attracted an increased share of ABC1 viewers to Channel 4 in its time slot.
“This TV format gives us a chance to connect with viewers in a meaningful way. There was also the added benefit of some great sales uplifts on ingredients,” said Rupert Ellwood, Waitrose head of marketing communications.
Jonathan Lewis, Channel 4 head of digital & partnership innovation, added the channel was “committed to exploring bold and creative programme funding models by working with premium partners like Waitrose.”
