CKs Supermarkets has vowed to push on with its expansion plans despite falling into the red.
The chain bought four stores from The Co-operative Group in July 2009 and although the purchase boosted sales by 16.8% to £29.4m in the year to 30 April 2010, the company recorded a loss of £22,838 against profits of £267,000 the year before, according to accounts filed at Companies House.
"We continue to see expansion by way of acquisition and the building of new supermarkets," said MD Christopher Kiley.
