Safeway is launching four royal bloomers to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
Two 800g loaves, a Jubilee ring and a Jubilee Coburg have been made for Safeway by Rank Hovis using 100% wheat sourced from the royal estate at Windsor.
The move comes swiftly after Allied Bakeries' Jubilee loaf and follows the successful launch of a range of East Anglian country bread made only from wheat grown in East Anglia and sold locally.
Safeway's Jubilee bread will be on sale from May 12 (rsp 50p-75p) for a six-week period and, for every loaf sold, 3p will be given to the Jubilee fund.
