Wine producer McGuigan has expanded its Black Label range with a Malbec variety.
The red wine, rolling into Morrisons from 1 November (rsp: £7), is harvested from grapes grown in South East Australia and features spiced plum and blueberry characters with hints of chocolate.
Incorporating the lighter elements of a classic French Malbec, Black Label Malbec brought the best of both styles together to “produce something unique” said the winery.
“Most people associate Malbec with Argentina, and this Australian version embodies the bold character and spicy flavour profile of the typical Argentinian variety, but without being overly weighty.”
The tipple is positioned as ideal with meaty dishes, such as grilled steak with peppercorn sauce and beef wellington with roasted vegetables.
