Women in Wholesale has launched a new online menopause café in response to increasing demand for support from its members.
A new survey by WiW found 88% respondents were interested in attending menopause-focused meet-ups.
In response to the demand, WiW has teamed up with Mondelez to launch the online café, which will host four sessions open to all people working in convenience and foodservice wholesale starting in December.
The survey found 76% respondents struggle with menopause symptoms including brain fog, anxiety, and depression, and 46% faced physical issues including weight gain and hot flushes, but the majority found it hard to talk openly about it.
WiW chairperson and menopause café co-host Clare Bocking said: “It’s clear there’s a great opportunity to offer more education on menopause in the workplace not just for those going through it, but for colleagues and managers who want to help.”
The first intro session on coping with mood swings, anxiety and depression will take place on 12 December.
