Yeo Valley has launched a range of organic smooth fruited ‘big pot’ yoghurts in a bid to tap into the success of the burgeoning ‘no bits’ yoghurt category.
The Smooth and Creamy yoghurt range, which will go into stores this month, will comprise mango & passion fruit and mixed berry varieties.
Sales of smooth yoghurts have increased by approximately 10% in the past year, according to Yeo Valley, while the fruit juice and soup categories had also had ‘no bits’ success.
“By introducing the first fruited smooth ‘big pot’ format into the organic yoghurt category, we will be looking to create interest in this area,” said Yeo Valley head of brand marketing Ben Cull.
The range will be made from probiotic yoghurt and crushed organic fruits and will be available in Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons. The products will retail at £1.59 for a 450g pot.
