Yoghurt producer Yeo Valley Organic will be offering consumers free trees as part of an on-pack promotion across its milk and yoghurt ranges.
Running from 16 April, the dairy company's 'plant a tree' promotion offers a tree, complete with support cane and tree guard, in return for at least five labels, as part of its aim to highlight the low level of tree cover in the UK.
"Hard landscaping in Britain is having a detrimental effect on wildlife and the ecology, even in the centre of towns," said marketing director Ben Cull.
Consumers can choose from five native British trees. They can plant these themselves or make a donation to The Woodland Trust.
