Nutritional supplements business Higher Nature has named David Coulson as its new CEO.
Coulson was formerly group marketing director at AIM-listed Glisten, which was sold to Raisio of Finland last year. He replaces CEO and co-founder Brian Wright, who becomes chairman.
Coulson said his key focus was to return the company to growth before broadening trade channels and building exports, which currently represent 12% of its £8.5m turnover.
"We're looking at a number of possible retail outlets," he said. "It's important we get the fit right as we're very protective of our health food business but want to find our products in more places."
Higher Nature supplies natural diet supplements such as probiotics and herbal remedies to health stores and professionals and also sells direct to consumers via a web portal.
