What was your worst job interview? A few years back I went to an interview for a global brand marketing role at Unilever and spent 15 minutes wondering why the interviewer was so interested in my internet skills, only to find out I was being interviewed for an internet manager role. HR had sent me to the wrong interview.
What was the first music single you bought? Culture Club's Karma Chameleon.
How do you describe your job to your mates? I describe it as developing and selling all the products they loyally use every day, managing brands to make them more desirable to a range of consumers and making my products indispensable by developing great advertising, packaging and irresistible products.
What is the most rewarding part of your job? Helping to develop a new product is really rewarding. It's great to see a product developed from initial concept to finished article. Seeing someone pick your product off the shelf is great, especially when it hasn't been promoted because that means the consumer has chosen your brand.
What is the least rewarding part? Budget management.
What would your dream perk be? To take my dog to work.
What's your favourite movie and why? Point Break. Keanu Reeves was my first crush after seeing him in that wetsuit.
What has been the most embarrassing moment in your life? It makes me blush thinking about it, but I will say it was on my 21st birthday and involved a dress, my best friend, a queue of traffic and a van full of policemen!
Do you have any phobias? Needles and hockey balls... it's a long story.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? Harry Potter, to magically create more hours in the day or a spell that would do admin for me.
If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? I'd stop companies defaulting to promotions. Rather than slowly eroding brand equity, they should be thinking how to grow their category or brand by adding value.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? My horse. I love to ride so this would help me pass the time and also keep me fit.
What animal best reflects your personality and why? I think I'm like a fox or maybe a lion, because I am wily when I need to be and I'm very competitive. But I'm also very loyal to my friends and family.
