Kenny the Koala can’t take all the credit for Cushelle’s performance, though investment in ads no doubt helped fuel its £7.2m (12.6%) growth on units up 6.1%. Compare that with the £22.9m loss of Andrex (15) and the result is all the more impressive. Growth is partly down to Quilted, with owner SCA claiming Cushelle yields the highest spend per trip of any loo roll. Higher prices have helped cement a point of difference from own label, which continues to grow in loo roll. Kenny returned to TV screens this month.
