Warburtons has launched Bistro Deli Buns as the latest addition to its sandwich-making lines.
Two variants of the pre-sliced flatbread sandwich buns, White and Malted Grains & Seeds (rsp: £1.35/252g-264g), were aimed at “time-pressured consumers” who wanted “a more delicious and luxurious way to make a satisfying sandwich” according to the bakery brand.
Baked with extra virgin olive oil, Bistro Deli Buns will land on shelf from today (5 April) in Asda. They will then be available from 9 April in Morrisons before rolling out later to other grocers.
“As bakery innovators with more than 140 years’ experience, we’re always looking to develop new products that meet changing consumer needs,” said Warburtons innovations & product marketing director Darren Littler. “That’s why we’re delighted to expand our popular portfolio of sandwich solutions with the launch of Bistro Deli Buns.”
The new range comes about 15 months after the debut of Toastie Pockets, a type of bread pocket that can be filled and put in a toaster. In 2011, Warburton’s unveiled its first flatbread in the shape of Sandwich Thins.
