We’re going international for this week’s ad of the week, to the US, where food delivery service DoorDash has been very quick on the draw with its coronavirus response.
It’s launched an initiative called #OpenForDelivery, in order to remind Americans that though they can no longer go out for meals, they can still support the sector and enjoy delicious food.
The ad shows some empty restaurants, with a poignant voiceover reminding viewers of the good times they’ve had while out to dinner. But, he says, the kitchens are still busy in these places. “They’re still there for you. Now you can be there for them.”
The ad is perfectly pitched, impressively shot and edited (one assumes it was done quickly) and relays an important message to potentially confused consumers. Let’s have a UK equivalent soon, please.
