What was your first-ever job? Temping in the sales admin department of a confectionery company. After a couple of weeks, the company offered me a full-time role.
What was your worst job interview? It was a thirdstage job interview for a well-known ambient food company. They asked me to complete an exercise to demonstrate whether I could do the job, but I didn’t have a clue where to start so I had to call the interviewer back in and tell them I couldn’t do it. I was so embarrassed I made my apologies and made a rather hasty exit.
What was the first music single you bought? Respectable by Mel & Kim.
How do you describe your job to your mates? Chief doughnut taster!
What is the most rewarding part of your job? We have a very open dialogue with our customers and it always makes my day to receive positive comments about our products.
What is the least rewarding part? We occasionally get constructive feedback, enabling us to not lose sight of what is important to our customers. We take on board all feedback, whether negative or positive.
What is your motto in life? Do what makes you happy!
What’s your nickname? Most people shorten my name to ‘Luce’.
If you were allowed one dream perk what would it be? Fully expensed holidays would be nice.
What’s your favourite movie and why? I am not a big movie fan as I can’t really sit still for more than an hour. I would much rather watch a comedy show on TV.
If you could pick a celebrity to join your staff who would it be and why? A celebrity chef would be good to help with NPD!
If you could change one thing in the grocery industry what would it be? Our business uses pretty much all the major commodities such as sugar, oil and cocoa, so stability of commodities that help the entire supply chain would be great.
What luxury would you have on your desert island? Gourmet food cooked for me every day, especially dishes that would capitalise all the delicious seafood that would be available!
What animal best re ects your personality and why? A cat – I am quite independent and only happy to curl up and rest when it suits me.
