Annabel Karmel has added four new recipes to its range of kids’ frozen meals.
The new meals are: Delicious Chicken Lasagne, Lovely Lentil Bolognese, Creamy Chicken Pie and Mild Chicken Korma (rsp £1.50/200g).
Meanwhile the wider range – now 10-strong – has been given a “bold new look” featuring “Little Professionals” characters, which the brand first rolled out to its chilled meals earlier this year.
Packs have also been given a “Frozen From Fresh” padlock icon the brand said played up its nutritional credentials: they are low in salt, contain up to two of a child’s 5 a day, and contain no artificial colours or preservatives.
It added the move would “unify the brand and bring it all together”.
The updated range will hit 203 Iceland and Food Warehouse stores from 2 January, before rolling out to Tesco and Morrisons later on in the year.
It comes after Annabel Karmel was forced to switch suppliers earlier this year due to a legal spat with chilled babyfood maker Little Dish.
Little Dish signed an exclusivity deal with Brooksby Foods owner Samworth Brothers, obliging it to give notice to Annabel Karmel in November 2018. Little Dish then made an injunction application to prevent production of Annabel Karmel products during the notice period.
Annabel Karmel’s meals are now manufactured by Pro-Pak.
