Aunt Bessie’s has put the final piece in place to enable consumers to cook a complete dinner from frozen, with the launch of a frozen gravy brand.
The company, which already offers pies, roast potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and a range of vegetables, has launched the gravy in beef and chicken varieties to provide time pressed consumers with a complete meal solution.
Available in 400g packs of frozen cubes (rsp: £1.49), one
pack provides a serving of gravy for four people, said brand owner Tryton Foods, while a handful of cubes provides enough gravy for a single portion. It can be prepared from frozen in less than five minutes.
“For many people, making real gravy is just too time consuming while, for others, it is simply the fact that they lack the confidence to make gravy from scratch,” said John Hendy, commercial director at Tryton Foods.
“We are making gravy in the traditional way, using the best ingredients, stock and real meat.”
