Piccolo, the fast-growing babyfood startup, has added its first snacking range for toddlers, Mighty Squeeze.
The new pouch lineup (rsp: £1.30/110g), due to roll out mid-September, is aimed at children aged one-plus, introducing them to “new and complex ingredients”. Variants are Pear, Pea, Banana & Avocado With Amaranth & Mint; Carrot, Mango & Coconut With Amaranth & Turmeric; and Pear, Sweet Potato & Carrot With Pomegranate & Quinoa.
Piccolo, which launched in early 2016, was “always looking at ways to bring new and different ingredients to our recipes” said founder Cat Gazzoli. “We know how important this is in developing little ones’ tastebuds and setting them up with a great lifelong relationship with food.”
The Mighty Squeeze snack selection follows the launch in April of Squares, Piccolo’s wafers aimed at introducing babies to their first textures from around 10 months old.
In May, the brand was among those to win space in a Tesco overhaul of its babyfood offer, which saw the grocer delist around 30 Heinz SKUs and about 40 from Hipp Organic.
