The British Growers Association has overhauled its core team to better tackle the challenges currently facing the industry.
The association, which represents the interests of the fresh produce horticultural sector, hopes the changes will help the organisation “add value for the industry” by extending the services it offers.
As part of the shake-up, James Richardson has become head of finance operation, supported by a new management accountant, Karen Smith. Coral Russell has been appointed crop association executive, and will aid the BGA’s head of crop associations Jayne Dyas.
The BGA has also adopted a new strapline: ‘Fresh thinking - growing opportunities.’
The changes follow the appointments of Alison Frith as personal assistant to chief executive Jack Ward, and operations director Lisa Eagles in December.
“I am very confident that with the new look team we can develop and extend the range of services we can offer, create efficiencies, and provide a highly cost-effective service to our member organisations,” said Ward.
