The second man on the moon is the star of the latest push from Quaker Oats. Space-age superstar Buzz Aldrin will rocket on to TV screens on 1 November for four weeks, telling how he set foot on the lunar surface in 1969 with a belly full of porridge.
The clip shows him watching NASA archive footage of himself and fellow astronaut Mike Collins joking about how much oatmeal Buzz ate on the Apollo 11 mission. It ends with the 86-year-old Aldrin eating a bowl of Quaker Oats.
“Buzz is such an incredible man, and we are excited to be collaborating with him in our latest campaign,” said Jeremy Gibson, marketing director at Quaker owner PepsiCo UK. “We want to use the advert to highlight the beneficial role that Quaker Oats can have as part of a healthy lifestyle.”
