Coca-Cola looks set to launch a cocktail-inspired snacking range.
It has applied to register the name ‘Snacktail’ as a trademark with the International Property Office (IPO) under class 29, covering meat and dried fruits; class 30, accounting for confectionery and sauces; and class 32, comprising beer and non-alcoholic drinks.
The soft drinks giant declined to comment on the trademark activity when approached by The Grocer.
Space coke
It comes after Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) brought the space-inspired Coke Intergalactic to the UK earlier this month.
Billed as a “refreshing, innovative take” on classic Coke, Intergalactic was a “zero sugar liquid” with a “brilliant reddish starlit hue”, it said.
The limited-edition drink – launched in the US in February as ‘Starlight’ – delivered a “cooling sensation” and came in a 250ml can.
A rush of trademark activity from the soft drinks giant over recent months, however, suggests it is planning to bring even more of its international products to the UK market.
Coca-Cola last year registered the names of its Japanese spirits-based RTD brand Lemon-dou and American fruity seltzer brand Aha with the IPO, for instance.
