Danepak has extended its reach from bacon and fresh pork cuts into sausages for the first time.
Two lines traditional pork and pork and bacon have gone into Tesco, The Co-operative and Somerfield (rsp: £3 for a 475g pack of 10).
The launch will be supported by TV ads that form part of Danepak's £4m spend this year on the Danepak brand. "We're confident the sausages will prove equally as popular as other items in the Danepak range," said Sophie Colquhoun, marketing director at producer Tulip UK.
Market research found consumers loved the quality, taste and value offered by existing Danepak 'Perfekt' pork and bacon products, she added.
"The addition of the two new sausages will further strengthen our position as the UK's favourite pork and bacon brand," she said.
A website will also feature recipes such as sausage casserole.
