British field marketing company Dee Set Group has been acquired by Acosta Europe.

The undisclosed deal creates what Acosta described as the UK’s “market-leading” retail and field marketing services agency.

Dee Set is best known for its marketing, activations and insights work across most of the major UK mults and with big-name grocery brands. Its Reapp Insights business is also used by a number of the major supermarkets to track promotional and sales data.

Following the acquisition, Acosta Europe will now operate two separate retail media agency brands in the UK, Reach, which includes the ShopSmart field sales arm, and Dee Set Group. The acquisition – which was completed in September – is not expected to impact the immediate work that either do with clients while the businesses transition ownership.

“We are exceptionally pleased to welcome Dee Set and its talented associates to Acosta Europe and our greater Acosta Group agency collective,” said Lisa Koth, Acosta Europe chief strategy officer and EVP.

“The combined and expanded capabilities of these industry-leading agencies add measurable benefits to our valued UK customers and reinforce our role as the industry’s foremost global end-to-end sales and marketing agency,” she added.

The acquisition would “expand” Acosta Europe’s capabilities in the UK, giving it a collective 3,500-strong workforce of in-store field sales agents nationwide.

“We are bringing together two scale players in the retail and field marketing services sector to provide our clients comprehensive, flexible, and innovative solutions that meet the needs of a dynamic UK retail market,” said Ian Forshew, SVP, group managing director, Acosta Europe.

“Our expanded capabilities strategically position us for the future of this industry, offering a one-stop shop for every solution brands and retailers require.”
